Understanding Your Budget
On your budgeter, you will select "Income" categories to be tracked.
Then select the "Expense" categories to be tracked.
Once you've entered the income and expense categories you are budgeting for in the selected month, you will notice 2 totals at the bottom:
- Actual Disposable Income
- Budgeted Disposable Income
Your Budgeted Disposable Income is what is calculated based on the category amounts you input.
Your Actual Disposable Income is what is calculated based on your budgeted disposable income minus what you actually ended up spending for that month.
See Zero Based Budgeting Article on what to do with the left over Actual Disposable Income.

*Your Actual Disposable Income can be negative.
